A lovely antique Jean Pouyat serving bowl in the POY141 pattern. The interior features a central spray of roses surrounded by an abundant floral border, while the scalloped rim is highlighted with gilt trim. Additional motifs continue onto the exterior, creating an elegant all-around presentation. The decoration combines transfer-printed flowers with hand-applied enamel accents, adding subtle texture and depth.
The bowl bears the Jean Pouyat manufacturer's mark, used between 1891 and 1902, along with the retailer's mark for John Wanamaker, the renowned luxury department store of New York and Philadelphia.
Nice condition with no scratches or crazing. Visible gilt wear is present along the rim, as shown in the photos.
