This swivel chair is listed in the Thonet catalogue of 1886 as "Drehstockerl mit Rücklehne", in English as "Music chair, caned back". In the 1906 catalogue it is described as "Drehstockerl Nr. 1 / Nr. 5101".
The chair has been restored, while retaining its patina. The original black colour has now partly worn down to brown. New hand-woven rattan seat and backrest. Height adjustable (from appr. 50 to 60 cm). "Thonet" marked in the wood.
