This chair was produced in Romania in the 1960s/1970s. Marked "Romania". Chair No. 17, later No. 207 R/207 RF (also known as Long John chair), was designed by Thonet's founder, Michael Thonet, around 1865. Thonet is said to have based the design on the architecture of the Crystal Palace (destroyed by fire in 1936), where The London Great Exhibition took place in 1851 and where Thonet exhibited its chairs for the first time. This piece has an attribution mark,
