These are vintage candlesticks designed in 1937 by F.B. Sellew and manufactured by the famous Steuben Glass Co. in Corning, NY from 1937-2002. They are model #7792 and are marked “Steuben” in script on the underside of the outer base. This is a classic example of Steuben’s Teardrop Collection, and this style has grown in popularity since discontinued and is now a big collector’s item. The exact age of this particular pair is not known but likely around 1999-2000. They have been lightly used and are in excellent condition.
Note that image 13 shows a page from Steuben’s 2003 online centennial catalog that states “to create these candlesticks, five separate pieces of hand-formed glass are carefully assembled while the glass is still hot.” The next image shows a section from the 2002 Christmas catalog with the original price.
