Thick-walled and sculptural, this distinctive square bowl demonstrates the technical innovation and optical effects for which Galliano Ferro became renowned. Formed from richly coloured translucent amber glass, the bowl features softly rounded corners and substantial, heavy walls that beautifully refract and diffuse light. The exterior base is decorated with eight carefully positioned indented dimples surrounding a polished square foot, creating remarkable depth and visual movement when viewed from above or below. This decorative technique became closely associated with Galliano Ferro's experimental approach to Murano glassmaking and gives the piece its unmistakable character. Equally suited as a decorative centrepiece, vide-poche, catchall or display bowl, the sculptural form remains visually engaging from every angle while showcasing the exceptional clarity and craftsmanship of Murano glass. Condition Good vintage condition, consistent with age and use. There are a few fine surface scratches, light scuffs, a deeper scratch to the rim, and expected wear to the polished base. These signs of age are minor and do not detract from the overall presentation or visual impact of the piece.
