Title: Preambulator
Artist: Danny Phifer (Listed American Artist)
Medium: Original Hand-Colored Fine Art Etching/Intaglio Print
Edition: Rate Low Number - 13 of 300 (Hand-signed, titled and numbered in pencil by the artist along the lower margin)
Subject: Vintage Wicker Baby Carraige with Wildflowers
Period: Contemporary Realism (Late 20th Century/c 1980s-1990s)
Country of origin: Tennesee, United States
Plate mark/Image size: 14" X 11"
Total Sheet size (includes Deckled Edges): 18" X 14.5"
Of special note to collectors:
There is a beautiful, subtle 'ghost image' of a flower pot worked faintly into the dark gray/black background. This ghost impression is highly intentional and masterfully integrated into the plate texture, becoming visible primarily under direct viewing light to add a wonderful layer of depth tot he composition.
Because each print in this limited-edition run was individually hand-colored by the artist, this artwork fewtures entirely unique tonal variations. Being number 13 out of a total edition of 300, this is an exceptional early-press example showcasing incredibly clean, crisp impression lines.
Paper and Edge details:
This piece is printed on heavy, premium fine-art paper featuring beautiful, authentic deckled (rough, untrimmed) edges along the sides. These natural, deckled borders are highly desired by fine art collectors, showcasing the traditional, ahnd-made quality of the paper and making the print and excellent candidate for floating framing to put the beautiful texture on full display.
Condition note:
Good vintage/estate condition overall. The primary image remains in excellent shape with sharp lines and bright colors. Please note there is an old tape/glue residue mark running across the very top margin of the paper from a previous mounting. This mark is confined strictly to the blank upper edge and will be completely covered and hidden from view once the piece is properly matted and framed.
