H. Petitot
A French 1933-1938 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze by the famous Paris based company of Hubert Petitot holding three large panels. This model is called "Cleopatra" in the old Petitot catalogs. They were produced for Petitot by the Muller freres glass factories. The bronze worker Alexandre Petitot started his company in 1878. Around 1917 his son Hubert took over. The Paris based company of Petitot was a wholesale selling its lamps to lighting shops all over France and Europe.
The three glass panels made in thick frosted pressed glass have a beautiful salmon colour. They are unsigned. The mounting is marked with the usual Petitot initials AP for Alexandre Petitot. The chandelier has a drop of 27,95 inches (71 cm) and a diameter of about 18,11 inches (46 cm). It is in very good condition. Some shallow scratches can be seen on the shades, normal for 90 y/o glass. The fixture has been replated and the lamp is newly wired. It holds 3 American standard sockets.
