Antique 19th Century 15" Oval Blue Willow Porcelain Ironstone Meat Platter, Unmarked
Made in England c. 1885-1890.
Approx. 1" High x 15 1/4" Wide x 12" Deep
Beautiful, authentic 19th-century English Blue Willow transferware serving platter. This substantial piece features the iconic, deeply detailed Chinoiserie landscape scene in a rich, vibrant cobalt blue against a classic pearlware/ironstone white background.
Dating to the early-to-mid 1800s (circa 1820–1860), this platter features a completely unmarked, fully glazed back. This is a common and highly desirable characteristic of early Staffordshire-era production before manufacturer back stamps became a standardized practice. The glaze shows a heavy, authentic pooling and a distinct rim profile typical of early British ironstone factories.
Excellent antique condition with outstanding color preservation and structural integrity. Front Crisp, vibrant transfer printing with no cracks, major chips, or severe utensil wear. Reverse Fully intact glaze. Features a few authentic unglazed indentations from original factory kiln stilt supports, which are completely standard for 19th-century pottery production and confirm its age. Edges and bottom show very slight wear. Normal wear from age.
