A handsome 19th century English faux tortoiseshell tea caddy, beautifully crafted with sterling silver trim and a matching sterling silver escutcheon. The lid is centered with an elegant mother of pearl cartouche that was never monogrammed, preserving its original appearance. Raised on delicate carved feet, this refined tea caddy captures the understated sophistication of the Victorian period.
The interior remains well preserved, making it an appealing display piece for collectors of English tea wares, decorative boxes, or period furnishings. The caddy does not retain its original key. It remains in very good antique condition with only minor age appropriate wear consistent with over a century of use.
