This piece screams Art Deco and is an excellent example of the design esthetic of that era. Produced in Germany starting in 1934, the glass company of Auguste Walther & Sohne, created this piece in a lovely light blue shade. The piece was named, "Drei Grazien" (Three Graces) comport measures 12" tall x 10" wide x 5"wide at the base. The Graces are partially nude and holding their arms high above their heads, to give the appearance of holding up the bowl. The bowl and the pedestal are made up of two separate pieces. Often only the stand remains, and owners often recycle to use as a candlestick. This piece is in very good vintage condition. There are a few light scratches on the inside, which could probably be buffed out and a small chip on the nub of the bottom of bowl that cannot be seen when pieces are together. These does not deter from its beauty. The bowl has an alternating design of clear and frosted glass stripes. This piece is whole which is somewhat rare and would make a beautiful addition to any collection or home design. See less
