The piece is in good-to-fair condition without any structural issues and appropriate signs of age related wear. These drums were traditionally utilized in Himalayan Shamanic and Tibetan Buddhist religious practices; typically played during meditation, healing rituals, and chanting.

DIMENSIONS: 13.5" Diameter x 5.5" Tall

The center of the green hide drumhead features a hand-painted Gankyil (often called the "Wheel of Joy"). The three-colored swirls represent primordial energy, interconnectedness, and the union of spiritual attributes. The rounded wooden body is finished in a vibrant red lacquer and decorated with classic hand-painted Tibetan motifs, including golden dragons and clouds. The metal side rings were used to attach straps or suspensions, allowing monks or shamans to hang the instrument during extended ceremonies. See less
