Vintage Bybee pottery blue & white splatterware pie dish. Bybee Pottery was run by 5 generations of the Cornelison family in Madison County, Kentucky and was one of the oldest continuously operating potteries west of the Allegenies. Clay for production was locally sourced and is distinctive reddish-gold in color. The sponge or splatterware pieces often featured glaze skips. This is an older piece and should be considered for decorative purposes only.
