An elegant, modernist-inspired executive desk with two pedestals, designed in the 1960s or 70s, most likely produced in the workshops of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), as evidenced by the official German-language stamp visible on the side panel.
Its generous rectangular top is covered in light oak veneer in excellent condition, without any visible scratches or marks—a pleasant surprise for an office piece of this era. The anthracite gray lacquered metal tube base forms a simple and structured H-frame, connecting the two pedestals with a central crossbar, in keeping with the functionalist design of the period.
The left pedestal opens with a lockable door revealing two interior shelves, ideal for storing binders or documents. The right pedestal features four drawers with black Bakelite handles, the top one of which is lockable—the original chrome ring key is present. The interior of the gray-painted metal drawers features serrated rails for hanging files, an authentic relic of Soviet-era institutional furniture.
This piece is at once historical, functional, and decorative, perfect for a contemporary office seeking a touch of vintage style and exceptional durability.
