This beauty, an original one-of-a-kind oil painting on board with fabulous color, was painted by an unknown local artist in the mid 20th-century, though it could be just a tad older (1940s). The artwork depicts a bold stylized botanical arrangement featuring varying shapes, from a solitary flower, bulbous buds to pod-like blooming fruit. The artwork is framed by a garden/bottle green hued mat board and it is housed in the original stained birch wood frame. The hematite-hued background plays well with the teal green hued board mat which sets off the rich persimmon, ochre, green and brown hues of the artwork. On the backside, a solid plywood panel with circular hanging hardware appears to be original while the attached simple hanging wire appears to be a later addition. At one time, it appears, the backside was covered by green and white striped paper. The artwork is unsigned. It measures as follows:

Overall: 29½” x 23¼” x 1” H/W/D
Artwork center board: 20” x 15” H/W (measurements do not include the all-around ¾” mat board)

In excellent condition with minimal age-appropriate wear. Fabulous colors and details. The translucent greenish wash-style of stain on the frame allows the birch wood grain to peek through and complement the vivid colors of the artwork. For a lover of dramatic and vibrant stylized oil on board botanical artwork, this lovely piece should be a must have!
