An exceptional, investment-grade original 1849 first-edition hand-colored folio lithograph titled "Rhododendron Thomsoni, Hook. Fil." (Plate XII).
This rare botanical plate comes directly from the historic landmark publication, The Rhododendrons of Sikkim-Himalaya, a work that ignited a global "rhododendron craze" among Victorian horticulturalists.
The piece features brilliant, deep crimson blossoms contrasting against rich, robust green leaves, meticulously illustrated by the legendary Victorian botanical artist Walter Hood Fitch.
The print is beautifully housed in a stunning, vintage custom green-and-gold wood frame with elegant corner accent details. The classic color palette perfectly complements the deep red tones of the blossoms, making this a turnkey, statement piece ready to hang immediately in a high-end interior.
