This antique bench from France, just shy of 3 feet in width, exhibits an elegant Louis XV-inspired design with upholstered seat over a beautifully swagged apron and raised on four slender cabriole legs. The wood retains an early finish with remnants of the original painted and parcel-gilt finish remain visible, showing attractive age and patina acquired over generations of use. The velvet upholstery with nail-head trim is in worn condition and would benefit from replacement, providing an opportunity to customize the piece and make it your own.
