Likely made in rural France in the early-to-mid 20th Century or possibly earlier, this delightfully charming and highly adaptable piece will add lovely light colouring and a relaxed-yet-refined aesthetic of bygone quality and elegance to any interior.

Impressively sized and beautifully crafted from solid wood, this stunning floor-standing unit features three shelves of varying depths in the Regency ‘Waterfall’ style. The lower pair are bookended by eye-catchingly attractive, substantial and ornately carved scrolled arms, which strongly hint towards a French connection. Set on charming bun feet, the sizeable, planked shelves are buttressed by tier-carved end pieces, showing lovely attention to detail and quality in the craftsmanship.

Revamped in more recent decades in an attractive distressed-whitewash finish, this delightfully eye-catching multipurpose piece could be used as a shelved console unit, bookcase, media unit, display stand, serving buffet – the possibilities are almost endless! However this stunning and highly practical piece is used, it won’t fail to add lovely colouring, super quality and a relaxed look of bygone sophistication to any setting.

CONDITION
This delightful shelving unit is in good vintage condition. Solid, structurally sound and impressively sized, apart from its purposefully distressed finish, it has only minor historic wear in the form of a couple of touched-up dents to the lower shelf.
