A hand-carved Chinese Tang Dynasty-style horse sculpture, modeled after the muscular, robust horses celebrated in art during China's Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD). It features stylistic elements from that period, including a cropped and arched mane, a detailed saddle blanket, and decorative harness trappings across the hindquarters The piece is carved from a variegated, mottled green hardstone, similar in appearance to jade, characterized by dark green mineral flecking and lighter, milky-gray veins.
The piece weighs 12 lbs. and is unsigned.
