This is an elegant Louis XV style fauteuil arm chair by Italian furniture maker Chateau d’Ax. The chair features a carved walnut frame with floral details on the top rail, front seat apron and knees of the cabriole legs. The arms and feet are carved with scrolls. Original upholstery in cocoa brown velvet and accented with antique bronze nailhead trim. Signed Chateau d’Ax under the chair seat.
The late 20th century arm chair is in very good vintage condition. The chair is very sturdy and solid. The upholstery is very clean with some minor dents on the nap from storage. Scattered scratches, scuffs, and dents on the chair frame. Please see photos for more details about the condition of the chair.
