American quarter sawn oak hall bench in the manner of R.J. Horner, dating to the early 20th century. The bench features a heavily carved crest with scrolling foliage, Green Man mask carvings, dramatic sea serpent-form supports, carved side panels, claw feet, and a lift seat that opens to a spacious storage compartment.
The rich quarter sawn oak grain is highlighted by a warm, dark finish, while the deep relief carvings showcase the craftsmanship associated with the Horner style. A striking piece for an entryway, hallway, or mudroom that combines decorative appeal with practical storage.
