The image originally appeared in a French couture fashion magazine of the time. It is NOT a recent reproduction print. It showcases evening dresses by Pierre Balmain and Jean Desses ( A prominent Parisian couturier in Paris 1930-1960). The designs are illustrated and signed by Rene Gruau with his signature initial. Gruau was one of the leading fashion illustrators in the Mid-Century years who worked in Paris with the most iconic fashion couturiers known. His work is highly recognizable and collectible today.
