Rising to impressive heights of 59 inches and 49 inches, respectively, the sculptures capture the poised elegance and elongated anatomy of wading birds such as herons or cranes, interpreted through a distinctly Italian Modern lens.

The bodies are hand-carved from solid pale-toned wood, likely maple or beech, with the natural grain intentionally preserved beneath a softly burnished finish. Rather than pursuing strict realism, the sculptor emphasized fluid silhouette, graceful movement, and stylized feather articulation through incised carving and shallow relief work. The result is sculptural and architectural, balancing organic craftsmanship with the glamour associated with late Hollywood Regency interiors.
