An exceptional example of early American Colonial Revival craftsmanship, this handsome quarter-sawn oak gentleman’s dresser dates to the first quarter of the twentieth century and retains its original mirror, hardware, and removable accessory chest.
The warm oak displays beautiful quarter-sawn figuring throughout, while graceful serpentine drawer fronts, carved rosette details, reeded gallery trim, and hand-finished moldings lend the piece an understated elegance.
One of its most distinctive features is the removable three-drawer tabletop cabinet, ideal for organizing jewelry, watches, cufflinks, correspondence, or personal accessories. This thoughtful addition suggests the piece was designed as a gentleman’s dressing chest or valet dresser.
The dresser includes two upper accessory drawers, one generous lower drawer, original brass bail hardware, working key escutcheons, and solid dovetailed drawer construction. The original beveled mirror is framed by carved wheat motifs and decorative rosettes, creating a timeless silhouette equally suited to traditional, English Country, Arts & Crafts, Colonial Revival, or farmhouse interiors.
A beautiful and highly functional heirloom-quality piece offering both display and storage.
