The central mirror is framed by antiqued mirrored panels, each corner accented with a carved floral rosette that gives the composition depth and distinction.
Above, the pierced crest rises in a symmetrical arrangement of scrolling foliage, classical leaf forms, and a central basket overflowing with flowers. Every element was carved by hand, from the curling leaves to the softly rounded blossoms, creating a sense of movement while preserving the balance and refinement associated with Italian Neoclassical design.
Created during the original Neoclassical period in the late eighteenth century, the mirror reflects the renewed Italian interest in classical proportion, symmetry, and disciplined ornament.
