Wonderful English Tea Caddy from the 19th century. Made to keep their most prized possession (tea) under lock and key- you too could use this glorious antique for your treasures…whatever they may be! Rare to find a tea caddy of this age with all of its’ pieces intact. It has two glass inserts with two lids all in original condition.
The patina of the mahogany seems to get better with age. It is in excellent condition in consideration that this piece is likely 200 years old. It would add a bit of sophistication and charm to any bookcase or tablescape. It would be right at home in a gentleman‘s study, a library bookshelf, a powder room to hide essentials, an office or in a gentleman‘s dressing room.
