About the poster: This poster produced by the airline Lufthansa promotes the city of London, a destination served by this airline. The poster, produced in the 1960s, perfectly matches the sleek, effective and clear graphic style of the German designer Olt Aicher. Aicher is considered a pioneer in graphic design, having greatly influenced how to develop a corporate branding. We also owe him the development of many pictograms, the typeface Rotis, as well as his graphic work for the 1972 Munich Olympics.
In the 1960s, Aicher worked with Lufthansa to develop their own visual identity, notably by designing their logo. This poster perfectly matches the vision of Aicher’s graphic design: despite its simple composition, it remains visually striking.
