This is an authentic, turn-of-the-century (circa 1900–1909) Victorian faux bamboo salesman's sample miniature six (6) drawer chest. It was a scaled-down replica of either a lingerie chest or mini chiffonnier with six fully functional pull-out drawers with turned wooden knobs and keyholes.
This rare piece is in original condition featuring birdseye maple veneer drawer fronts framed by turned faux bamboo trim. The top section showcases a distinct carved geometric diamond/chevron pattern made from faux bamboo moldings.
