Mario Cavaglieri was a painter naturally inclined from the first decade of the 20th century to surpass the verist naturalism then in vogue and to embrace the lessons of French Impressionism with a very personal interpretation. His rarefied and refined painting captured the tastes of a wealthy and worldly audience, who appreciated his obsessive attention to furnishings, expressed in interior scenes with figures also influenced by Art Nouveau. In the years following 1925, he moved to a vast estate he owned in Gascony, where he painted rural views and landscapes in a bucolic and tranquil lifestyle, far from previous opulence. The work presented here, likely from these years, is a countryside view with a farmhouse that, through the use of pencil, takes on a rarefied and indefinite connotation. The work is presented in a styled frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
