These much loved classic Scandinavian Modern bookcases were designed by Danish master carpenter Johannes Sorth for Nexø Møbelfabrik, Bornholm, Denmark.
The idea was to create different versions of bookcases with shelves, cabinet or drawers but all with the same exterior width and height.
It was produced in five different versions, and this version was top of the line with both a cabinet and built in secretary desk with tambour doors. The desk top pulls out and behind the shutter doors are three small drawers and four cubby holes. Above are two wide height adjustable shelves. The cabinet below has two sliding doors and the shelf inside is also height adjustable.

It can stand alone or be combined with other book cases from the same series.
Standing on round tapered legs in solid oak. The profile of the bookcase tapers towards the top, which adds to the elegance and lightness of the design. Versatile shelving system with ample space for lots of books.

Very good handbuilt quality. True craftsmanship from the Danish Mid-Century Modern era.

Model number 334-41 stamped on back.

Good vintage condition with light patina consistent with age and use. Nicks and scratches. Repair to lower back right corner. Cleaned and polished, ready for use. This piece has an attribution mark,
