An elegant Egyptian Revival "Thebes" stool, attributed to Liberty & Co., London, and dating to the early 20th century. One of the most celebrated furniture designs of the Aesthetic Movement, the iconic Thebes stool was originally introduced by Liberty & Co. in 1884, inspired by the ancient seating forms depicted in Egyptian temples and tombs. Its timeless silhouette would go on to influence both the Arts & Crafts Movement and early Modernist design.

Crafted from solid oak, this handsome example features the classic concave saddle-shaped seat with longitudinal slatted cutouts, designed for both comfort and sculptural elegance.
