The hoop back is elegantly bent into a smooth continuous arc, filled with slender spindles that fan out gracefully from the solid saddle seat. The arms are supported by two beautifully turned spindles and end in a lovely scrolled curl — a refined detail that sets this chair apart.
The saddle seat is deeply shaped and carved for comfort, showing a rich, warm grain. Below, four turned legs splay outward at a confident angle and are connected by a full set of turned stretchers in an H-and-X formation, giving the chair great stability and a very handsome silhouette from every angle.
The wood has aged to a warm honey-brown tone throughout and the chair is solid and sturdy.
In very good vintage condition with natural signs of age that add to its character.
