Made in Sweden around the 1980s, this "telefonbänk" (telephone seat)—also known as the gossip chair in the Anglo-Saxon world—rigorously interprets the principles of Scandinavian design, based on functionality, balanced proportions, and quality materials. The wooden frame features a clean geometric silhouette, originally designed to accommodate a landline telephone and allow for comfortable seating during long domestic conversations. The piece features a practical single-drawer storage module on one side, while the adjacent section accommodates a seat with a padded cushion recently upholstered in a light-colored fabric. The clean lines and square-section legs emphasize its Nordic modernist aesthetic.
