This beautiful and rare 19th century Wedgwood scallop shell platter is a collector's item through and through. Features two shells as the focal point of oval dish laying atop a bed of seaweed and ensconced with a rope border. Produced by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons Co., the marine series became widely coveted in the 1860's due to its vibrant glaze and detailing.
Despite minor signs of wear (expected given its 130+ year age), remains in exceptional antique condition. Platter is decorative, not for food service.
