A handsome late 19th century/early 20th century Mersman Brothers American Empire style oak console table, library table, or desk, screen-used … Read more A handsome late 19th century/early 20th century Mersman Brothers American Empire style oak console table, library table, or desk, screen-used in the HBO series "And Just Like That…" (2021–2025). The table is crafted from oak with a broad rectangular top fitted with a protective glass top overlay and raised on a dramatic lyre-form legs on a trestle base. Each support is comprised of graceful S-form scrolled uprights ending in bold volutes. The legs are joined by a curved stretcher shelf set above four large scrolled feet. Under the top is a carved frieze apron housing a single drawer with dovetailed joinery. The oak presents beautifully with vivid radiating quarter-sawn woodgrains and flecks. The table has ample leg room for use as a desk measuring approx. 26 inches from the floor to the apron. The table is accompanied by a studio asset tag and a certificate of authenticity from Warner Bros. Discovery confirming its use as a set piece on the HBO series "And Just Like That…", the later spin-off of "Sex and the City" (1998-2004). Crafted in a classical American Empire style with Arts and crafts influences, the piece is well-suited for use as a console, desk, or library table. The table has a handsome profile and an interesting provenance.
