Vintage Stratton powder compact, likely from the 1950s or 1960s. It features a detailed embossed lid depicting a man in a plumed cavalier hat courting an elegant lady sitting in a Louis XVI style chair.
The 2½” diameter compact is marked Stratton England on the back. It appears to have never been used as a tag telling how to open powder compartment is still on the mirror, and no powder residue in compact. The tiny knob, which you would think holds the compartment closed, does not move; but reading the message on the mirror, perhaps it is not supposed to. The powder puff has almost completely disintegrated; however, the backing is okay and another puff could be attached. It is also marked Stratton Made in England.
