By the 1890s, the metal washboard had become a household staple across Britain and beyond. This zinc-faced example reflects the peak washboard era, when every home had one and used it constantly. It's a genuine working-class domestic survivor.

Condition: The galvanized steel frame is solid and straight, and the zinc scrubbing surface still shows its ridged pattern clearly. Some surface patina and age-related wear are present, exactly as you'd expect from something well over a century old. See less
