This is a charming vintage sporting-bird print after wildlife artist Arthur Singer, depicting a beautifully detailed grouping of game birds, including pheasant, quail and grouse, surrounded by grasses and flowering botanicals. The print is identified along the bottom as “Number 3 of a Series of Paintings by Arthur Singer.”
It is especially appealing in its rustic, Adirondack-style faux-bois frame, fashioned to resemble intertwined branches and accented at the corners with carved leafy details. The aged green matting, warm coloration and naturally distressed frame give the piece wonderful character and an authentic old sporting-lodge feel.
A fabulous decorative piece for a hunting lodge, country house, gentleman’s study or collected traditional interior, with lovely age and patina throughout.
