This stunning pair of bookends features a beautifully colored fairy tale cottage scene, complete with a castle in the background. A charming cobblestone walkway leads to a girl watering flowers in the yard, surrounded by trees. This style reflects the Storybook Style and Tudor Revival trends that became massively popular in American architecture and home decor during the 1920s. The texture of the scene is exquisite, highlighted by a gold-painted leaf accent scroll frame that beautifully encircles the main design. Circa 1920s. This set, in this painted condition, was the more expensive set. There is another, plainer version, unpainted. These are truly rare antiques and exquisite. The Bradley & Hubbard circular mark (often featuring "B&H" inside an impressed circle or the round mark with "printer's flowers") was primarily used from the late 1890s through the 1920s and 1930s
Because these bookends bear the impressed "B&H" circle mark on the back, it confirms they were manufactured precisely during this 1920s window, which was the peak production era for Bradley & Hubbard’s decorative cast iron novelties.

These bookends are not only beautiful but also in great condition! You will not be disappointed. They are marked with "B&H." Please note that one bookend has a partial piece of fabric on the bottom; see photo. It can removed, but we leave that up to the new buyer.
