The piece is constructed with multi-layered glass, utilizing a warm frosted amber/yellow satin background that provides an excellent, glowing contrast. The outer layers are intricately acid-etched in deep burgundy and reddish-brown tones to depict cascading branches heavy with clusters of berries and slender, detailed leaves hanging from the top rim down the body. The multi-stage acid carving creates a crisp, raised three-dimensional texture that beautifully catches natural light.Key FeaturesRenowned Lineage: Paul Nicolas established the D'Argental line after working closely with Émile Gallé, resulting in pieces that carry the highest technical standards of the Nancy School of glassmaking.Warm Scenic Glow: The choice of colors allows the vase to give off a brilliant amber luminescence when backlit, emphasizing the rich details of the botanical relief. The cameo design and signature are in excellent, sharp condition. Rim Note: There are a few small, minor flea bites/chips along the top rim edge due to age and handling. These are small surface imperfections typical for period art glass and do not detract from the beauty or display value of the piece, but are noted for complete transparency. less
