Architectural Mid Century tension pole floor lamp, designed by Gerald Thurston, circa 1950/60's. The lamp features a vertical track with an adjustable cone form lamp fixture. The lamp fixture can be raised or lowered on the vertical pole, the hood shade pivots and tilts on its horizontal axis. This example is in good, original, working, vintage condition. Specifically the finish shows minor cosmetic wear, and the on/off switch is somewhat touchy, but functional.
The vertical post features a spring loaded top, which allows the lamp to be securely positioned when installed.
