Description
This original Union Portland Cement Company canvas sack was produced for cement manufactured at the company's historic Devil's Slide, Utah plant. It features the company's distinctive red devil mascot enclosed within the Union Portland Cement logo, making it an eye-catching example of early American industrial advertising.
Heavy canvas cement sacks like this were designed to be reused before paper sacks became standard, making surviving examples increasingly difficult to find. Today they appeal to collectors of vintage advertising, cement and mining history, railroad memorabilia, Western Americana, and primitive industrial décor.
Its authentic wear, staining, and working-life repairs add to its historical character and make it an excellent display piece for an industrial or farmhouse collection.
