These botanical design plates came from the Album de la Decoration, an unbound collection of decorative art studies of plants and flowers and decorative designs.. Purchased by us in Paris. They are "plate #59 and #60", it is uncomon to find 2 coordinating images in a collection such as this. The chestnut tree is an ornatmental species, especially in spring with its upright clusters of white flowers with red markings. These images are incredibly detailed with the structural studies of the tree's leaves, buds, blossoms etc. The choromlithographs have soft natural color tones; they are fresh, clean, and pristine. They are by G. Lebart (One plate is signed by the lithographer.)As a rare pair they make for unique wall decor in your home. Original lithographs of this sort are now RARE to find, and even harder to find in excellent clean condition like these. Images measure 8.25 11.5.
