The turned front legs … Read more This solid oak wingback armchair by Henning Kjærnulf and was produced in Denmark during the 1960s. The turned front legs and scalloped apron, carved with three roundels, reflect a stronger influence from traditional Danish cabinetmaking than is typically seen in seating of the period. The oak displays a warm honey-toned patina, with a close, even grain throughout.

The tall, gently curved wings are upholstered separately from the seat and back cushions, giving the chair a well-defined architectural silhouette. Both cushions are reversible, combining rose mohair velvet on one side with a woven floral jacquard on the other. Individually applied brass nailheads finish the padded armrests, while the broad oak arm supports reinforce the chair's substantial construction.
