The tall architectural frame is finished in deep black lacquer, outlined with hand-applied gilt detailing and crowned by a dramatically carved gilt acanthus and stylized fleur-de-lis crest.
The shaped upper corners and generous beveled mirror plate give the piece the presence of a Georgian or Queen Anne–inspired looking glass, interpreted through Christopher Guy’s glamorous contemporary lens. The contrast between the nearly black frame and softly aged gold leaf makes it especially photogenic—refined enough for a formal entry, yet graphic enough to hang above a sleek modern console or chest.
