This is a beautiful Antique Amphora Austria art pottery vase, dating to the Art Nouveau /Arts & Crafts period (circa 1895–1915). The piece is a squat, wide‑bodied vase with four sculptural handles and a richly decorated rose and rose‑hip motif set against a mottled gilt background. The floral design leans toward the Arts & Crafts naturalistic style, with soft modeling and warm, organic coloration.
The underside is marked with the crown hallmark, Amphora, and Austria, confirming production in the Turn‑Teplitz region by the Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel group—one of the most collectible makers of Amphora pottery.
This vase was purchased from the estate of D. Grunwald Fine Jewelry & Antiques, Geneva, IL, known for handling high‑quality European decorative arts.
