Design Plus Gallery presents an Original Oil Painting of a Beach Scene by Texas Impressionist Robert Hamman (b. 1938). This artist is known for his glowing colors and soft edges and was a Baytown native who made San Antonio his artistic home. He is celebrated for capturing romanticized views of the Riverwalk and Texas coastlines. His style shows strong influences of both American and French Impressionism. This painting captures a sweet Victorian era scene with two ladies up to their ankles in the shallow tides of the Gulf. They are wearing elaborate bonnets with their skirts/petticoats hitched up with their hands. The artist has signed the piece on the lower right hand side and it is encased in a golden neoclassical frame.
