Offered is a vintage 1970s burnished ceramic pedestal bowl from Tonalá in Jalisco, Mexico and created by Ken Edwards renowned for his studio, El Palomar. The bird and flower are typical of the region, made from natural tints native to the area. Also features their signature agave plant and butterflies.The base is a soft beige and the hand painted decoration is deep chocolate, navy blue, olive green, and sky blue. The rim has a heavy caramel and coffee toned drip glaze, and the exterior of the bowl has a scalloped scroll detail in a rich cranberry and eggplant . Signed "KE Mexico" on the base with his signature insect design.
