A rare and complete set of twelve pristine Hutschenreuther porcelain dinner plates in the striking Black Knight pattern. Each plate features a dramatic dark blue/black decorative band with colorful pheasants, lush fruit arranged in ornate footed bowls, and floral motifs, all framed by a thin outer gold band and a heavy, richly detailed ~1-inch inner gold-encrusted band. The clean white centers provide elegant contrast and allow the opulent border design to shine.
These early-to-mid-20th century plates were produced on high-quality Hutschenreuther porcelain and decorated in the USA (clearly marked on the reverse). The gold decoration remains bright and crisp with no wear, and the painted elements retain vibrant color and fine detail.
Exceptional Museum Condition: No chips, cracks, crazing, fading, spots, or signs of use. They have been carefully stored and are in collector/pristine estate condition and are ready to grace a formal table or add to a serious porcelain collection.
Provenance: Inherited from a distinguished family with ties to historic Hearthstone Hall in Fairfield, Connecticut. A beautiful piece of American heritage with wonderful storytelling potential for your dining room or collection. Has stayed in family. Hearthstone Hall is primary building on The Fairfield University campus and has been renamed Bellarmine Hall. Estate, vintage fine porcelain of Connecticut provenance.
Perfect for a full table setting of 12 or as a standout decorative set. Matching service pieces are scarce in this pattern, making a complete dozen especially desirable.
