A drypoint etching on paper titled “Femme a la Chaussure (Woman with Shoe)” from the “Venus aux Fourrures (Venus in Furs)” series by Salvador Dali. Hand signed in pencil on the lower right with an annotation of 26/50 on the lower left with the blindstamp Dali. Published by Pierre Argillet, Paris in 1968. Certificate of Authenticity included from Dali expert, Bruce Hochman. Reference: Field 68-6. The intaglio depicts a reclining female figure rendered in fine, linear detail, accompanied by a male figure positioned above. The composition incorporates sweeping arcs and abstract linear elements characteristic of Dali’s late 1960s graphic work; it reflects Dali’s continued engagement with figurative and surreal subject matter in etching.
Provenance: From a private collection. Dimensions: 26.5”h x 22.75”w x 1”d (framed). Overall good vintage condition. The sheet appears clean and well preserved. Full condition reports available upon request.
Salvador Dali (1904–1989) was a Spanish painter, printmaker, and writer and a central figure of the Surrealist movement. Known for his detailed draftsmanship and dreamlike imagery, he became one of the most widely recognized artists of the twentieth century. Dali exhibited internationally throughout his career, with major retrospectives organized by institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Centre Pompidou, Paris. In 1982, he was granted the title Marqués de Dali de Pubol by King Juan Carlos I of Spain. His works are held in major museum collections worldwide, and the Teatro-Museo Dalí in Figueres, Spain, was established to preserve and present his legacy.
