Beautiful, sturdy rocking chair
Wonderfully decorative and ideal for relaxing, reading, or as a nursing chair!
Beautifully designed, the delicate struts are finished in a lighter wood tone.
But the best—and unusual/rare—feature of this model is that it can be locked in place with a simple lever mechanism. One turn and it's rock solid! :)
Although the idea is great, it doesn't seem to have caught on—perhaps because of the somewhat "rough" look of the locking blocks?
We think this rocking chair has a particularly lovely vintage charm—it's probably much older than 60 or 70 years. The locking mechanism was certainly common on high-quality, handcrafted models from around 1900–1920.
